Merry Christmas everyone!!! I'm typing this post from my family's living room, where I'm curled up in a blanket and surrounded by so much happiness + love. I hope that it's been a magical day so far, if Christmas is something that you celebrate. If not, I hope that the holiday season has been amazing so far!!

This month I am SO EXCITED to be hosting an entire month of giveaways!!!! Every week you will have a chance to win a love-soaked, beautiful item that will help you fill 2015 with magic + help you create your own myth.

And the last giveaway is the biggest yet! Gala Darling is giving away an ENTIRE YEAR of Radical Self Love Letters!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means every day in 2015 one lucky darling will get a handwritten note from Gala delivered straight to their mailbox. I can't imagine a better way to infuse every day of the coming year with love + magic.

If my overuse of exclamation marks aren't enough to convince you that this is something ah-mazing, perhaps it's best that I let Gala tell you herself:

Imagine receiving a letter every morning which reminds you of your infinite beauty, ceaseless wisdom, and extreme grace. A daily memo to live more boldly, be more exceptional, and take more risks. A personal love letter to encourage you to cherish yourself.

That’s what Radical Self Love Letters are: the beginning of your journey to a one-person romance.

Radical self love is an act of being, not of doing… And Radical Self Love Letters can help you be whoever you want to be.

What are Radical Self Love Letters?

One of the most challenging things about learning to fall in love with yourself is the fact that it is a daily practice, and it requires daily work. But our lives are all so busy and densely-packed that making time to engage in a little self-care quickly slips to the bottom of the priority list.

With Radical Self Love Letters, you’ll be getting a personalised email love note every day. A reminder to live more boldly, be more exceptional, take more risks, be more compassionate, and cherish yourself.

Each letter contains my personal reflections, concepts to think about, a prompt or action to explore, and some wise words to keep your heart light.

Maybe you’ll read your Radical Self Love Letter in the morning, while you drink a cup of tea or chew your toast. Perhaps you’ll let it soak in as you travel to work, on the bus or train or in the back of a taxi. And maybe you’ll read your letter just before you drift to sleep. Either way, it will become a part of your routine; a way of carving out some time to focus on taking care of yourself.

Allow me to show you it’s possible to believe what you want, and do what you please!

2015 Dreaming + Planning

This is the first year in a loooooong time that I can recall wanting to sit down and plan out my next year. To dig deep, to make goals and action steps, to get down in the dirt with my desires and plan. Maybe it's because I'm fully realizing the power of intention + manifestation (or rediscovering, as I have a feeling my childhood self was very aware of those powers). Maybe it's because I see myself as a Business Woman and Real Adult since turning 22 in September. Maybe it's because I'm tired of just winging it every year and not putting myself first. Whatever the reason, I'm determined to block out an entire day and look at the entirety of 2015. But to do that, I needed to gather some tools.

product1-full-1

Enter first, The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte. I'd heard about this book for so, so long but had never actually gotten my copy because I thought I knew what my desires were in life. But boy, was I wrong! I picked mine up at the Texas Conference for Women so it could be signed by Danielle, and since seeing her talk I've read the first half of the book twice and have gone through to identify my Core Desired Feelings (which you'll find out at a later point!) This book is seriously a game-changer. I'm considering buying three of the workbooks just so I can go back through the process continually in 2015!

The second thing that I've invested in this year is Leonie Dawson's legendary Shining Biz + Life Workbooks. I've heard of her work for years and finally (finally) visited her site, promptly fell in love and have been reading whatever I can get my hands on from her. When I started seeing information about her 2015 workbooks, I knew it was a no-brainer to help me take my life and business to the next level. I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival in the mail so I can sit down and go through them!

The third thing that has been integral for me to get my hands on is a beautiful 2015 wall calendar. I may be somewhat of a calendar/planner junkie (seriously, just ask my parents) but I feel as though each type serves a different purpose. For me, this collaborative calendar from The Strategy Lab + Emma Kate Creativeis The One. It's minimal, beautiful, inspirational, and so full of love.

What I Learned at Elevate Austin by Design

Last week I attended Elevate Austin by Design, an interior design conference here in Austin. I was excited to go, but a bit worried because I wasn't sure what I would get out of the day-long event. But my worry was for naught because I walked out at the end of the day inspired and full of new knowledge.

Sometimes it's doing the things that baffle or scare us that will bring us the greatest rewards.

Here are five things I learned at Elevate Austin

: Word of mouth is everything. You can have all the best marketing in the world, but if people talk negatively about you or your services, it will hurt you severely.

: You can store PDF's in iBooks.

: Everyone is affected by the physical space they live in, whether they realize it or not.

: Sometimes having an inspiration board for a project or room will be more harmful than beneficial.

: Always have business cards on hand!

I've been making my way through S., a book that I picked up at Shakespeare & Company in Paris during one of my last days in the city. It is a collaboration between J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst, and a delightful one at that. It follows the lives of two readers who communicate through the margins of the book Ship of Theseus. I'm about three-quarters of the way through and fall more in love with every page. I recommend it literally everyone, given the chance.

I've been knitting furiously on the Purl Bee'sWorsted Seed Stitch Wrap, and have FINALLY reached the final skein (after working on this exclusively since January!)

While I love my larger handbag, I've felt the need for a smaller one since I've been back in Austin. Until I acquire a cross-body, I've been using this beautiful leather clutch that used to be my grandma's. It goes with everything I own, is small enough I can only carry the essentials but is also large enough that I am never feeling without enough space.

Zine Spotlight #1: Manifesting Magic

While I was still living in France I ordered Gabi'sManifesting Magic Zine and had it sent to Austin, knowing that it would be waiting for me when I returned. But the waiting? Was excruciating. So when I finally got my hands on it last month after 21 hours of planes and airports, I was thrilled.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect inside the pages, but all of Gabi's illustrations and words of wisdom struck a chord with me deep in my bones. Each page has its own piece of art and seamlessly blends art with soulful advice -- little reminders that we sometimes forget in the everyday hustle and bustle.

This zine has turned into my own little oracle of sorts. If I'm feeling particularly down or blocked creatively or emotionally, I'll pull it out and open to a random page and try to then incorporate whatever is on the page into the rest of my day.

Thank you Gabi for creating such a wonderful, magical zine!

P.S. -- My tarot cards were hand-made by the amazing Katie Rose Pipkin and if you're curious on how to read tarot, here's a great guide for you!
